Owl Graduation Card

Since graduation is a mere few weeks off for some, I thought I would post a little graduation card that I created for one of my workshops.  Since my last name is WISER I thought I would go with the "wise old owl" theme!  This little guy was made using the square scallop die as well as the top note die.  All supplies are Stampin' Up! with the exception of the tassle.  I decided to try my hand at tassle making and quickly discovered, it's not for me!  LOL  So, I gave in and just purchased small gold tassles that I found in the drapery section of my local craft store!  I thought this would also be a cute card for a wife to her husband (minus the mortar board) for Father's day (or vice versa from a husband to his wife on Mothers' day)  with a saying of "Whoos your Daddy"  on the inside, but I guess that's just my strange mind thinking without a filter yet once again!  Please forgive me, sometimes I just can't seem to help myself!  LOL

Build a Blossom Peacock Card

When the Build a Blossom stamp set and coordinating punch first came out, I saw many great ideas created with it.  And I also kept seeing comments about what everyone saw when they looked at the set, " I see a candle flame", "I see a carrot.....etc"  but when I looked at this set for the very first time, it instantly screamed "Peacock feathers" to me!  So, that is what it became.  The fan was made using the large petal from the punch using the new Paisley Petals DSP which will be available in the upcoming 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! catalog.  The body was created using  a 1 1/4" circle, and the large and medium petal shapes from the build a blossom punch.  And of course, the top knot and the legs were made from the snowflake punch.  The detail for the face was a little bit or work but I really like the way it turned out!
There are so many possibilities with this punch and stamp set..................with a little imagination, the sky's the limit!

Here we go!  My very first post on my new blog.  I'm very excited as well as apprehensive.  If only I was as creative with the computer side of things as I am with all things papercraft LOL!  So please bear with me and exercise the patience that all beginners deserve until I figure this whole thing out!  I will be posting some projects in the very near future, but as it is 2:00 a.m. right now, I think I will definitely wait until I am fresh from a good night sleep.  It is safe to say that at this moment, I am all tired out with the details of setting up a blog!
So, until then, happy papercrafting!
